Types of Person

Person (পুরুষ)

বাংলা ব্যাকরণে যাকে বলা হয় ‘পুরুষ’ বা ‘পক্ষ’, ইংরেজিতে তাকেই Person বলা হয়। ইংরেজিতে বক্তা যখন নিজেকে I (আই) বা We (উই) বলে কথা বলে, তখন সেই I (আই) বা We (উই) হল First Person. বক্তা যখন শ্রোতাকে You (ইউ) বলে সম্বোধন করে কথা বলে, তখন সেই You (ইউ) হল Second Person. আর বক্তা ও শ্রোতার মধ্যে যখন তৃতীয় কোনো ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা বিষয় প্রসঙ্গে কথা হয়, তখন I ও You ছাড়া বাকি সব Pronoun ও Noun হয় Third Person. যেমন – he, she, it, they, Bipin etc. It means ‘I’ & ‘We” 1st Person, you 2nd person and remaining he/she, they, it, Jhon or any noun are 3rd Person

এককথায় I/We (আমি/আমরা) First Person, You (তুমি/তোমরা) Second Person বাকি সব He, She, They, It, John, Bikram, Azad, Azmira, Gita প্রভৃতি Proper Noun হল Third Person.

1. First Person

The first person is the speaker referring to himself or herself. (বক্তা যখন নিজের ব্যপারে বলে)।যেমন- I obey my parents. We study every day. Our teacher teaches us history. The president gave me a prize.
First Person: I, me, my, we, us. Our অর্থাৎ I, We এর Objective ও Possessive Case হল First Person.

Me (আমাকে)	Us(আমাদিগকে)
My (আমার)	Our (আমাদের)

2.Second Person

The Second Person is the person whom someone is speaking to. (যার সাথে কথা বলা হয়।)যেমন – You must speak the truth. Never waste your time. You shall not tell a lie. The girl is yoursister.
Second Person: You, your. অর্থাৎ You এর Objective ও Possessive Case হল Second Person.

You (তুমি, আপনি)	You (তোমরা, আপনারা)
You(তোমাকে, আপনাকে)	You (তোমাদিগকে, আপনাদিগকে)
Your (তোমার, আপনার)	Your (তোমাদের, আপনাদের)

3.Third Person

The Third Person is the person about whom something is said. (যার ব্যপারে কোনোকিছু বলা হয়।) He, She, They, It এবং অন্য যেকোনো Proper Noun এবং ওদের Objective ও Possessive Case হল Third Person.
যেমন – He is intelligent. She is my friend. He kept it on the table. They are all good boys.
Third Person —- he, she,it,him,her,his,they,their,them.

Him,her (তাকে)	Them (তাহাদিগকে)
His,her (তার)	Their (তাদের)
This (এই)	These (এইগুলি)
That (ওই)	Those (ওইগুলি)
It (এটি)	These/those (এইগুলি, ওইগুলি)
